In ancient lands where legends dwell,
A tale of love and magic I will tell.
Mayahuel, beautiful goddess of the power of the maguey,
With her celestial light she spellbound hearts as she passed.
Quetzalcoatl, the serpent of the skies,
He regarded her with adoring, longing eyes.
Her love, a flame that burned brightly,
A passion that the heavens themselves understood.
But the darkness lurks, seeds of envy,
Tzitzimime's whispers sowed deceit and lies.
To protect her beloved from the embrace of harm,
Quetzalcóatl wove a sacred grace with her efforts.
Mayahuel transformed, a divine maguey,
Her souls forever entwined in destiny.
Rooted in the earth, she blossomed once more,
Testimony of a love that no one will ever undo.
Quetzalcóatl, afflicted and alone in his existence,
He shared the nectar of the pulque, his love to transmit.
Through the ages, the story of him is told,
In each sip of pulque, love is revealed.
Mayahuel, her eternally linked essence,
With the spirit of the maguey, divine and consecrated.
Her love endures, a heavenly flame,
Mayahuel and Quetzalcóatl, forever the same.
